The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
What We Do:
For the youth, help to instill values in young people and, in other ways, to prepare them to make ethical choices during their lifetime in achieving their full potential. For parents, we help them instill these values in their children.
Time & Training Required:
Completely flexible - from 1 hour per month to a significant amount of time. Estimated maximum possible for some roles such as Scoutmaster: 40 - 80 hours/month. New volunteers will receive any and all support and/or training required for their role.
All that's needed is a desire to support the mission of the Boys Scouts. Specific talents and/or skills are not necessary for this ministry. It is helpful to have good interpersonal skills with adults and/or with youth, leadership skills, a knack for teaching/mentoring, and outdoor skills such as camping, cooking, hiking, climbing, etc.
