St John's has designatied the 10:00 a.m. Saturday hour of Adoration each week for the Persecuted Christians.
There are many painful stories surfacing about the plight of Christians throughout the world. If you have been watching world events and wondered what action you could take on behalf of those persecuted, we offer this verse - Romans 15:30 - "I urge you, brothers and sisters, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to join me in the struggle by your prayers to God..."
We humbly ask that you join us in one hour of Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration for those persecuted that God might bring an end to the suffering and inhumanity currently found throughout the world, and replace it with a spirit of unity and peace to all people.
Fr. Ray has offered this prayer for us to pray:
O God, who in you inscrutable providence will that the Church be united to the sufferings of Your Son, grant, we pray, to your faithful who suffer for your name's sake a spirit of patience and charity, that they may be found true faithful witnesses to the promises you have made.
Through the prayers offered before your Most Blessed Sacrament, confirm your servants in the truth and grant to your faithful who suffer tribulation that, as they follow your Son in bearing their cross, they may, in every trial, give glory in the name of Christian they bear in being one with you through baptism.
We ask all of this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
If you are unable to physically attend Adoration, please consider offering up this prayer wherever you are the appointed time.
