EVANGELIZATION / FOUNDATION BUILDING / CONTINUED GROWTH
Evangelization (Good News). First, the parish must effectively deliver the Good News to ensure our lives are built on the Cornerstone of a relationship with Jesus. Without this cornerstone, our foundation and our faith are useless. Saint John Paul II reminds us that "...initial proclamation has a central and irreplaceable role, since it introduces man 'into the mystery of the love of God, who invites him to enter into a personal relationship with himself in Christ' and opens the way to conversion." Foundation Building or "Repair." Second, the parish provides a study for Catholics who need to tie all that "Catholic Stuff" together, into their daily lives. Currently, the parish uses the Catholic Christian Outreach program (CCO) provided by the Archdiocese.
Continued Faith Study. Third, the parish and Archdiocese have created a "passport" to guide further study in the faith. There are many ways to continue growth in the knowledge of your faith. Click on the link for topics such as prayer and Scripture (Faith Study List). Also, the "Formed" website is a parish-provided resource
for all parishioners.
So you are no longer strangers and sojourners, but you are fellow citizens with the holy ones and members of the household of God, built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the cornerstone. Through Him the whole structure is held together and grows into a temple sacred in the Lord; in Him you also are being built together into a dwelling place of God in the Spirit. (Ephesians 2: 19 - 22)
