St. John the Baptist Catholic Church has rooms of various sizes and configurations available for parish and school ministries and groups.

Please follow the steps below to request space within our facility.

Step 1: Request Facility Space & Child Care

Complete and submit the online Facility and Child Care Request Form.  You will receive an email notification confirming you submitted this form.

The Facilities Manager and Child Care Coordinator will review your request to determine if it can be accommodated. You may receive a phone call or email from one of these individuals asking any clarifying questions.

You will be notified via email by the Facilities Manager whether your request has been approved or denied. Please allow 2-3 business days to process your request.

Step 2: Setup Event Registration & Request Advertising

Complete and submit the online Event Registration, Payment & Advertising Form. A parish staff member will add your event on the Event Registration page of our website. The details provided will also be used in any advertisements that are requested. Please note, if child care has been approved for your event, you must complete this form.

As attendees register online for your event, you will be provided with a spreadsheet detailing their registration information. Any payments for the event can be made online during the attendee's registration process.

Step 3: Order Supplies

If you indicated on the Event Registration, Payment & Advertising Form that you need to purchase materials (books, nametags, etc...) for your event, a representative from the Parish Office will contact you to discuss. If books are needed for your event, please supply the vendor name, title and quantity during this conversation.

St. John's goes to Sam's Club and Walmart every Thursday. If you need supplies from either of these locations, these must be requested no later than 2:00 PM on Wednesdays.

If you would like to shop on your own for event supplies, please discuss this with a Staff Resource Leader. They will ensure you can check out a parish charge/credit card or pickup a check for payment. We ask that this be done in advance to ensure we have a charge/credit card available or a check signer on hand.

If you need catering, Benchmark Foodservice is onsite or you can select a vendor of your choosing.

Ministry Resources:

Effective ministry requires INDIVIDUAL AND PERSONAL MOTIVATION AND COMMITMENT  to align with your state in life and life circumstances, as well as with your God-given gifts and talents and your motivation for responding to God in your unique way.

Effective ministry also requires CLEAR DEFINITION OF MINISTRY--those we serve, what we intend to do, who will help, and what resources are available to us.

To ensure our ministries thrive and grow it is essential to INVITE, WELCOME, AND ENGAGE MEMBERS who have the spark, interest, and availability to contribute in the most effective ways.

Once parishioners try out ministry and start to sense their fit, it is important that we genuinely extend ourselves to help new members stay on so they can continue to use their skills and be fed by the ministry. Likewise, it is important for us to care for our members and leaders so that ministry remains a safe place to nourish our spiritual fitness.

For those interested in stepping up into a leadership role, we suggest planning for success by having potential new leaders walk side-by-side with existing leaders to learn from an experienced leader. Then when it is time for the new leader to take over, he/she can invite the previous leader or another to mentor, as needed. This allows for the new leader to exercise his/her individuality without missing critical steps that might derail the ministry.

To assist us in conducting effective ministry we provide BEST PRACTICES, TOOLS, AND RESOURCES based on prior successes to help guide our ministries.

Ministerial Code of Conduct

One aspect of the mission for us at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church is “giving loving service to our neighbor and strengthening our parish community.” We do that in large part through the many ministries here that serve our parish family and the greater Edmond community.
